This is a tribute to Trey Ratcliff, not that I think he’s a cow (I admire him and his work a lot), but right after I made this photo, he’s “The Horse of Sagas” came to mind, I don’t know why cause they don’t have that much in common, but maybe some of it has to do with that this is shot on the Faroe Islands which are not that far away from Trey’s beloved Iceland, and I think – never be to Iceland – they are much a like. Well anyway it did, and because of that and the great inspiration Mr. Ratcliff has on my way of doing things, I would like to dedicate this one to him.
Well the main reason I got this shoot is that I since the beginning of this century – where I almost got something similar – have wanted to make such a photo, I didn’t know it was gonna take me around 10 years to get it. But it isn’t that easy to get, cause cows are pretty easily scared and runs away most of the time.
And keep in mind this is shot with a 24mm on a Nikon D3s, which makes this lady pretty damn close.
It’s a single shoot HDR made in Photomatrix, with some sharpen and color adjustments added afterwards in Photoshop.
