When you spend a great amount of time, sitting in a car, getting from point a to b. You just have to make the best of it, and it is quite a challenge to try to make some decent photos out of a moving car, especially when the Road is full of potholes.
But I always kill time by shooting out of the window while driving – sometimes even if I’m the driver, it just makes it a bit harder – you get a lot of no good photos, but hey it’s digital, you just delete them afterward, and I find it a whole lot of fun to try to get some good ones, and when you do, they are sometimes pretty awesome.
This photo is from my recent trip to Mongolia, and it was made while driving – on a paved road without too many potholes – it was raining, so the road was nice and shining, and there were some really awesome Clouds. I got this one in the first “take” you don’t always have to make a lot to get the one.
I converted the RAW file into Black and White in Lightroom, and I added a whole lot of contrast and grain, to get the Gritty look that I like.
